Half-Day Dance/Academic program (years 7-11)
Due to increased demand from students wanting to train towards a career in dance, we now offer daily dance training alongside full academic studies (at the academic institute of your choice), enabling students to achieve their full potential both scholastically and as dancers. These programs run predominantly during the day, giving you more time for homework and other activities in your after school time.
The aim of the program is for talented students to attain a standard of excellence in all styles of dance during their teen years, and for high achieving dance students to work together, to be challenged and stimulated beyond the part-time dance students. These programs are designed to prepare students for a professional career in the dance industry within Australia and Internationally.
Entry to these programs is by invitation from the Director. To arrange an interview, contact us today.

Part-Time School
Pre-School Dance Program 3-5 yrs

Classes in the early years assist social development, alongside development of movement skills, including; postural awareness, balance, and hand-eye co-ordination. The emphasis at this level is on a love of dance.
3-4 years - "Fairy Toes Dance Class" is a fun way for very little people to experience the joy of dance. The key concepts at this age are to develop confidence, to enhance learning through movement, to develop the beginnings of postural awareness & body control, to express ideas to music and of course to be creative and use the imagination.
4-5 years - Kinder Dance; this level builds on the foundation established in the fairy toes class, and is also ideal for 4 year old beginners. Children are exposed to a more structured class, while having lots of fun. We introduce simple movement exercises to begin building strength and isolation of muscle groups. Musicality is taught using clapping and tambourines. Concepts including follow the leader, taking turns and working in groups will assist the transition into the junior school program and are also essential skills to give children confidence at school.

Here, we recognise that dance class is just one of many activities in the life of the developing child. The classes are now structured with a series of regular exercises to develop technical placement. Excellent stance and postural development are paramount in the training right from the junior levels. Mime, improvisation and learning short dances are part of the weekly class.
For students who wish to set goals and attain a sense of achievement through dance, children may commence exam levels once they reach 6 years of age. Exams are optional.
Students will progress through the levels at their own pace according to ability, maturity and number of classes per week they attend.

Intermediate Dance Program 10-14 yrs
Encouraging students to become self-learners and acquiring a sense of mastery at each stage of their learning, are important aspects of dance training, and also skills for life. We promote these values in our students.
The technical focus for this age group is on developing strong core strength, with development of upper body placement for greater artistic expression. Leg strength is continuously developed in preparation for pointe work for girls and big jumps for boys.
